Translation, Revision, Review and Proofreading
These are my main areas of expertise (English into Spanish):
- Physics
- Engineering
- Chemistry
- Medical devices
- Sports
Note: Terms such as revision, review, editing and proofreading are often mixed up. To avoid confusion, I use them as defined by the ISO 17100 quality standard for translation services:
- Revision: Bilingual examination of the target text against the source text.
- Review: Monolingual examination of the target text.
- Proofreading: Examination of the revised target text before printing.
As for editing, in this context it may refer to either bilingual editing (revision) or monolingual editing (review).
Localisation
- Website localisation
- Software localisation
- App localisation
- Video game localisation
Training
I currently teach memoQ and Xbench courses in the postgraduate degree in Translation Technologies, Localisation and Multimedia Translation at Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio. Usually this degree takes place between October and May, and lessons are taught in Spanish. For more information or to register, please visit its official site (in Spanish).
Quality Assurance
Every text I deliver goes through the industry’s most demanding and advanced quality checks, which I tailor to each text, type of content and client.
I can also help you automate your quality checks to ensure your texts comply with your instructions, style guides, terminology and preferences (this service is only available for Spanish or English as target language).
